Dash finishing!

Sorry, Tom, but that concept is beyond me at this moment. I know that I'm tired tonight after a 14 hour work day, but I can't grasp where and how you wire it in to avoid dual source power? Not that it matters or would hurt it if the radio is off there's no draw anyhow.

Maybe it's becoming clearer now....eye lids getting very heavy, brain slowing down.......

I should have elaborated. Wire it in parallel so it does not increase the voltage. It will provide enough power to keep your electronics like the radio clock running but will not have enough power to burn up your car or melt wires. Just wire in a female plug in the car, maybe even near the radio in the wires that provide power to the clock. and a male plug with the battery pack. Make the battery pack with enough batteries (could even use AA batteries or maybe a single 9-volt) to provide enough voltage to power the clock. The local auto parts store may even have them made up.

So Tinster's the one who is responsible for all of this Global Warming...cutting down "rainforest" trees just to satisfy his neanderthal need for a wooden dashboard...

coooool....hehehe

I used 3/8" solid black walnut...

I used the old dash as a template. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif

Yankee, Yankee, Yankee you poor lost soul.

Some of us more modern thinking folks have these
areas we call "wood farms" where we plant and
grow small quantities of exotic woods for craftsmans
use only.

Tinster harm a rainforest tree? Not in this lifetime.
In fact, I own 100 acres of rainforest trees in Bazil
that I purchased in my grandmother's name. Forest
preserve for all eternity.

Wire in a cigarette lighter socket (now referred to as a power source). Then go to your local auto parts store or friendly neighborhood Snap-On dealer. They have an adaptor that will plug in the socket and takes a 9volt battery. in the trade we use these for cars so as not to lose radio codes on theft proof stereos and for keyless entry. cheap and lasts for days. If you can't find one or are still confused, I'll try to post a picture. Dave

It doesn't matter if I loose the settings on the radio, All I listen to is the CD player anyway (1970's TRIUMPH MIX CD)!!

I'm actually awake and grasp the concept today. I'll drop over to Pep Boys tomorrow. They'll probably have them.
Thanks, Dave & Tom.
