Long time no see- 1 midget needs a engine(mosquito) , snail won't go faster than 55 with tail wind........Maggie (twin cam) is 2 weeks from being completely re fitted, painted , racing screens and returned to me..........GUSTUAV.......WE HAVEN'T RECOVERED FROM RITA FOR CHRIST SAKE- Mickey could you put a little spin on this and send it back to sea? I'm chewing XANAX and laid in a supply of TequillA hey Steve glad you aren't in New Orleans ,huh-lol Randi

Besides the Tequila, also lay in a supply of the essentials (Abita Turbo Dog for me, please!), and stay safe. We're all watchin' the doppler thingies...

Mickey

Mais, Cher, 'dat's what 'dem ice chest is for!

Mais, yeah. Looks like we're all going to feel this one,Randi.
Seems like it will barrel into the south coast and turn left, toward Texas.

And,as Mickey says, fill dem ice chests!!!

Stuart.

They have now made evacuation manditory in Vermilion Parish south of 14- & gas has become impossible & even ice is getting tough- I hope you stay safe and well- we lost our shop to Lili but this time Hagerty has hi dollar on 18 of our cars the one and only barely comforting thought......No matter what people say about earth quakes you don't have to watch as they come to eat you-more xanax please! Randi

Randi - they're even telling us way up here in north Alabama to batten down & be ready for a heavy does of rain & wind!!

Lift everything up on a couple of concrete blocks so nothing goes under water!

I think I'll just stand on the concrete block & drink tequilla- it's looking like a 40 ft. surge if it comes in vermilion Bay- thank god Zack is almost on land. Maggie is only 2 weeks from completion ARRRGH- 42 years and she becomes a yellow submarine

The worst part is Hannah is right behind this one. :cryin:

I was part of the rescue efforts post Katrina. What people saw on tv, in print, and online was NOTHING compared to being there, ankle deep in mud and muck, seeing things that simply shouldn't be. God speed and God bless everyone. Round 2 is surely not needed or wanted.

vermilion Parish was full of cajuns whose whole life after near 100 years was wiped away..... RITA not a very important storm in world news-- had devastation compared to New Orleans- every family ........lost someone who lost EVERYTHING.. They started over with what they had or didn';t have,by pulling together- not waiting for FEMA/ROAD HOME OR THE GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS THAT DID LIP SERVICE TO OUR LOSS BUT CREATED MORE PAPERWORK & CONFUSION (commonly known as RED TAPE) THAT STIFLED INITIATIVE. THE FACTS WERE THE GREASY WHEEL WAS New Orleans- and yes their plight was horrendus but rural southern Vermilion Parish was ignored, forgotten, and left to the resilent, stuborn, and determent people whose great grandparents carved out their own unique culture by refusing to be be defeated. We lost our brand new ( 2 weeks old ) shop we saved 10 years to build......fema wanted to loan us money at a larger interest rate than the darn bank & ask for 3 years of gross reciept, proof of every thing we owned (so they could attach it) and our irs forms- I through them out - told them my mother didn't know that stuff-- KISS MY ASS.... RITA DESTROYED 85 % OF FARM, CANE,RICE & A WAY OF LIFE Existing since the Louisana purchase . If you recieved any federal aid WHICH TOOK 1 TO 2 YEARS YOU WERE REQUIRED TO BUILD between 8 to 12 feet above the flood plain- sounds almost reasonable, right. Look at your dwelling- how accessable is elevating the entire structure 12 ft.- I'm rambling- this is old news........In the next 2-3 days the prediction is the worst storm Ever in the history of Lafayette....it will show us once again how nature always prevails. All of us down here thank you for all your prayers and consern. Love Ramdi

gee after 8 beers and shots I feel like what will happen - just will. at 58 starting over hasent got much appeal - We've collected cars for at least 20 years and they are all wonderful- maybe not to everyone , but to me. If it all goes well I drove and enjoyed everyone. Not all British but 36 thru 79 Midget & everyone special.........Maggie - my 1st car I bought in 1967 has been with me through all lifes changes & finally to be able to restore her was like a dream......it breaks my heart that manditory evacuation has left her-( 2 weeks from completion) in the path of the surge. We aren't in very much better shape, but I morne my car - 2 days before ground Zero .Go out side and HUFF AND PUFF AND BLOW THIS BITCH AWAY!!!!!!!!!!1Randi

randi,
Our prayers are with you! We are all praying for a small miracle to occur and maybe this won't be as bad as all the weather predictions keep saying. One of my good friends has gone to Mississippi to "batten down the hatches" on her new home that is almost rebuilt after Katrina took it out. Please stay safe and we are with you.

thank you so much but I'm afraid this time my ass is grass. At least my kids ( adult children) will be out of here. I've seen so much destruction in the last 2 years i'm almost numb. Ironically I was always the first to voluneer to try to help salvage what was left of peoples lives ( I'm a notary & can legitimise value & ownership) but to know that all you have worked for & truly loved as a hobby is about to evaporate.....I'm no spring chicken ....has just about broken my heart ------- and it's not even here yet. What happens just will. I just want the courage to go on. WITHOUT WHINING= RANDI

Randi,
Our prayers are certainly with you and everyone along
the gulf coast.

Living here in Puerto Rico, we know first hand the
helpless frustration of watching major storms approach
with that damned red line laying right on our heads.

It appears it will get to Cat 4 before next landfall.

Good luck and best hopes,

dale

We'll be praying for you and everyone down there! Stay safe and get outta Dodge if you need to!

Thoughts are with you and Zack.
Check in as soon as you can.
