damper [shock] oil

I wanted to check and possibly add or change the oil in my 76B's shocks. The fronts seem pretty easy. Does anyone have any tricks or suggestions for the rear shocks. Thanks, Mack /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

You'll find a rubber plug under the rear shelf carpet near the wheelwell. Pop that out for access to the filler plug for the rear shocks. If you need shock oil just drop by the nearest Harley Davidson dealer and get a bottle of fork oil...

The filler plugs on the shocks are Rudge. The ONLY oddball fittings on the whole car, BTW. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

---just in case you did't know.

A *SIX-POINT* 14-MM socket can be used in a pinch if they're not too corroded. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif

Good call on the 6-point socket! a 12 point metric would eat it to perfect roundness!

THERE you are! I thought you'd run off with the milkmaid or somesuch.

Nah, been depressed about finding new work, and such... Got the actual word today from my boss (I was just reading the writing on the wall a couple weeks ago)... They want us all down to 40 hours a week 5 hour OT tops... For the past 8 years, 1/3 of my pay has been overtime... Like 15 hours OT a week average. So here I am, paying bills and living a lifestyle of someone making $30,000 a year, and there cutting me down to $20,000 a year. I told him I couldn't do it. Can't afford to work there anymore, and will take the first decent paying job I can get. Trouble is I don't have work experience in anything... Lot's of knowledge, and quick to learn, but no work experience. You know how hard it is to find a $30,000 a year "entry level" job? <sigh>

Sorry for the rant.

Indeed I do. "Over 50" is an additional tweak in 'conventional' employment possibilities.
