~This Short Video~ will give you an idea of the many neat cars that have run in Dakar over the years (there's even a Jag XJ6 at the end)

Pay a Somali pirate, silly!

One continent or another... what's in a name.

I'm just glad to see the effort!

Just got to risky (politically/terroristically) to run the Dakar to Dakar over the past few years! Watched a show on Robbie Gordon's preparations for the run. Quite a custom machine his team constructed for this event!! Hope they give it good TV coverage!!

Dakar to Dakar wouldn't be a very long race. :jester:

BTW, the highlights are shown on "Versus" network throughout January. Looks like afternoon and evening highlights.

Nice video Nial. Thanks for submitting it. But I thought I saw Danny DeVito in the race with his Romancing The Stone car.

I forgot to ask, what was that car he had in the movie? Sure did take a beating!

Yes it did. I think it was a Renault 4, have to watch the movie again.

I love watching the support trucks race... :eeek:

Well Shane, I meant the "Dakar" (which was run from Paris) to Dakar, wasn't it?...Sorry for the bad syntax!
