Cylinder Head Leak

Hi All. Happy New Year. I have replaced the head on my 72 B. I have used a copper gasket along with copper gasket spray sealer. Now I have a slight weep between Nos 2 and three cylinders. The head was skimed before fitting. Will this do any harm and what should I do to stop it. ( by the way the leak is on drivers side that is right hand drive) Regards John.

John, did you retorque the head right after it warmed up? If not you might want to do it now, but I don't think it will cure the problem. Look at it this way, now you know how to do it. Did you have the head checked for a crack, that is where a good many have one. Wayne

What brand of copper gasket did you use? I find that SCE Gaskets is the solution to all of my engine building. They make a great copper gasket for my chevy's I will inquire them about the "B"s. They have a self sealing head gasket made for just about everything. Perhaps Moss sells them.

Thanks Guys . The head was a reco unit set up to run on unleaded petrol. I did not retighten after it warmed up so do I have to pull it off again and start from scratch. Regards John.

Thank you will do that and see what happens. Regards John.
