Cutting out eyebrows on the cylinder liners?

I installed my head yesterday to get a look at my valve to liner clearances. All the valves are oversized, and as suspected, the intake valves require more clearance to fully open.

I taped and covered everything except the area I was working on and cut out the 4 eyebrows. The valves now clear the cylinder walls, but look very close on cylinders 4 and 2.

I don't want to make the eyebrows too large, or not large enough, so I was wondering if anyone has any advice or photos they could share.

After breaking an exhaust valve stem in the Courier last year I sourced out a VW valve that was inexpensive, had a better keeper design and also was a bit larger and lighter.

Prior to doing anything I cut up a scrap head longitudinally so I could see just how much metal I had to play with and where the passages really were, then cut the pockets larger in small increments till I got where I wanted.

Use modelling clay, high-quality cutting bits, keep things clean and you'll get there
