Looks really, really slick IMO. Well besides the side pipes and clear lenses.

Never been a fan of the GT, but that one is kind’a nice. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I had a buddy who owned one while we where in the Marine Corps together stationed on the East Coast. Fun car road trip car – unless you’re the unlucky guy stuck in the back. Oh goodness - my backside still aches to this day when I remember that trip from Jacksonville NC to Ashville NC riding in the back of one.

One negative note however - /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonod.gif Kind of cheeky looking, having the side pipes and while the real exhaust is sticking out the back end. I’d pick one or the other and stick with that.

I think the GT would have lasted longer had Opel done something along these lines in the first place.
I wouldn't mind having something like this for myself.
Now, let's see. There's a GT for sale about a mile from the house, I've got blades for the Sawzall, a 4x8 sheet of 20 Ga. steel,..................Nah, too much work.

The GT had a pretty good run (1968 to 1973 with over 100k sold) considering it was never meant to be produced (it was designed as an engineering test bed).

Opel did make a couple of T-top show cars but they were never developed for production.

For those of you not familiar with the GT I should point out that Bret's discomfort in the back is due to the fact that it is a two-seater. For the two up front they're quite comfy. (I used to stuff my brother in the back of his.)

PC.
