I know we've done the "where can I get a new dash from" thing to death, and I looked at a bunch of posts before my eyes glazed over.

I need a custom dash - I want to replace the indicator bulbs and rheostat on my 73 with a couple more 2 1/16" gauges. This might require spacing the others out slightly.

Does anyone know of a place who does that sort of thing? Custom veneer would be nice (burl walnut or birds eye maple being the two obvious choices), but I'd settle for stock appearance. Otherwise I'm going to be shopping fro marine ply, veneer and new router bits...

Definitely call Randy at Prestige. He is in process of another custom batch, now that he just filld VB's order, and about out of some impossible to find woods - hurry. He is making me a custom dash to accept additional instruments while deleting several of the idiot lights and rheostat. I have him spacing five gauges in the center instead of four. He told me to expect a little trimming on the metal facia due to the gauge layout necessary to keep symmetry.

His finish is applied and baked on. Absolutely stunning. Not cheap but worth the added expense.

I once saw a guy's TR6 that looked really racy. He custom fabricated a solid 1/4" plate aluminum dash and "turned" the face. Eliminated the cubby box, instead installed a narrow but deep felt-lined shelf and had made a custom chrome-plated grab bar on the passenger side. Not for everyone but looked really "bad" on his car.

Alan, you can check out my dash in the photo gallery of my site if you want, and if you like it I can give you the woodworker's contact info. He's a friend of mine (also a fellow LBC owner - Bugeye, Morris Minor, Midget,etc) who does all sorts of beautiful woodworking as a hobby. He would need a dash as a template though, he doesn't have a TR6 dash around that I know of.
 
Apologies to Dan Masters if I stepped over the line .Here is a shot of his custom dash mockup. You can get veneers anywhere on line and you can select any variety you want.
