Asked Nissonger a question last night re our BJ7 and they replied today - figured it might be of interest to the group:

We really only services that we offer are a Bench Test or a complete rebuild. The Bench Test fee is $35 and it is waived if the gauge requires a rebuild. The cost to rebuild a Healey Speedo is $175 plus shipping. According to the original application charts, the FG2530/03 Fuel Gauge is correct to the car and it was produced with a Silver/Gold Face for the 100-6 models and with a black face for the 3000 models.

Unfortunately, the Silver/Gold faces faded out differently from paint lot to paint lot as well as differing amounts of sun exposure, thus it will be nearly impossible to provide a face that perfectly matches your other gauges unless you re-screen all of the faces. The cost to rebuild the Fuel Gauge is $125, the replacement face is $75 additional. All of our rebuilds are calibrated to original factory specifications and are guaranteed for one year. Nisonger has been the sole and exclusive U.S. Warranty and Service Center for Smiths & British Jaeger Instruments since 1949; nobody knows more about these gauges then us!

Our current turnaround time is 4+ weeks. Please pack them up carefully, include a note with the following information:

Your name & return shipping address.
A daytime phone number where you can be reached during business hours.
That you want to have the Speedo Bench Tested and rebuilt if necessary.
Visa or MasterCard number and expiration date.
The billing address for the card if it differs from the specified shipping address.
The cardholders name as it appears on the card.
The 3 digit security code found on the back of the card.

and send them to:

Nisonger Instruments
225 Hoyt Avenue
Mamaroneck, NY 10543

They may baulk, but will also give you a call for credit card info when they're ready to start work on your instruments.

I just wasn't all that keen on letting my (complete) credit card information sit around on the shelf for a month

From all my previous experiences with them, I would recommend and continue to use Nissonger for any future gauge work.

They may know a lot about fixing gauges, etc. but they need to brush up on their grammar: The last sentence of the third paragraph should read "...nobody knows more about these gauges than we do."

I dont understand the first sentence he wrote either.

"We really only services that we offer are a Bench Test or a complete rebuild"

Does he mean "The only services we offer..."
