Cumberland Sports Car Races-'53 to '70. Vintage Pictures.

I found this site at work a while back and promptly lost it. I just found it again via a note on another site.

The pictures are amazing.

They are from the old Cumberland Airport Races in Maryland. Many famous racers drove here...Penske did his first driver's school here. Nice shots of Group 44 Triumphs and other well-known cars.

There are some "mystery" (unidentified) pictures if anyone wants to take a guess at them.

That's great! I may be IN some of those pix... albiet a *bit* young. Parents and their friends were regular attendees. Pete Sachs (one family friend) would run a TC and later an XK-120 Jag.

Dr. M.R.J. Wyllie (jokingly referred to as "Dr God")!! Donna Mae!

Someplace in the hovel there are 8mm movies of hill-climbs and the races there. And some stills. I just GOTTA get organized. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif
