Classic Sports Racing Group’s
Charity Challenge at Infineon Speedway
September 30—October 2
CSRG’s 8th Charity Challenge highlights historically important
Lotus cars, and features 1992 Indianapolis Rookie
of the year and seven-time Indy participant Lynn St. James
as Grand Marshall and Featured Driver. Proceeds from this
event will add to the nearly half-million dollars which the
first seven CSRG Charity Challenges have raised for
Speedway Children’s Charities of Sonoma. This will be a
heavily promoted spectator event with many car-related
activities for the whole family.
The famous CSRG Roving Tech Inspection starts at 9am
Friday, September 30, with preference given to those who
are entered in Friday afternoon’s Open Practice. Friday
Morning track time can also be arranged with the Infineon
Raceway staff.
A full schedule of racing for all types of CSRG eligible cars
takes place Saturday and Sunday, with a morning and afternoon
track session for each run group each day.
The race schedule will be interrupted mid-day each day
with Track Rides for Charity and track parades of Vintage
sports cars. The Track Rides for Charity are an event in
which anyone 16 or older can experience three laps of the
track, at speed, in a Vintage race car of their choice, at a
cost as low as $50. The track parades are open to any car
that is eligible for the Car Club Corral in the Paddock, with
a limit of 75 cars each day.
Special social events are planned for the weekend as well.
More on those in the near future. Gate tickets are $25 a
day for Saturday or Sunday, $40 for the weekend, with children
under 12 free. All proceeds go to the Charities.
CSRG welcomes non-members with CSRG-eligible cars to
enter this event.
