This is why I hate driving near SpecMiatas (taken at VIR):

Wow! We have about 12 SM's in one class at Waterford Hills - I've never seen ANY of them do that!! The flying lessons are usually taken by the F500's and Vees. According to the SCCA stats for last year, SM is the fastest growing class right now.

Obviously sponsored by Flyin' Miata!

For some reason I never get tired of that Spit clip /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

... like I said earlier, we never have trouble with our SM's at Waterford Hills... that's not to say we don't have incidents though... check this out from our last race weekend. Before anyone asks, neither driver was hurt, the Datsun was back on the track the next morning, and despite not having a single body panel intact, the only damage to the SRF was 2 bent uprights!

Yikes! I'm glad that you included the note that no one was hurt. The last frame in that set looked like the results might have been pretty grim.
I'd guess that the Z was out-braked by the SportsRacer: this is one of the areas of conflict that I have with SpecMiatas. With my teensy solid-disk/drum setup, I have to be careful not to follow too close at braking points. I'll be running an enduro that will be full of SpecMiatas next weekend (8/7) at Pocono. I'll be watching out for this very thing.

Nial, I have to race with the Miasma's too. I'm going to disc rears on the Sprite.
The pictures RG posted were on the board at Mid Ohio this past weekend, and got a lot of comments. I told people that we actually had to throw a bucket of cold water on the cars to separate them. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Surprisingly, the driver of the Spec Wrecker was out of the car before the Z driver!!

(And, one of your EMRA guys was at Mid Ohio. Greg Beresford, driving an Atlantic.)

OK, I admit, I didn't get that at first....duh!

Rear discs not allowed in our "ST" class....how I wish they were!

I know Greg, but not real well...drives those cars without fenders. I'll see him next Tues at a weekeday event that we're running.

Oh and I want to say "thanks" for the great picture in your avatar...priceless! (but I'm not sure everyone can quite make out what's happening....how about posting a bigger version somewhere?)

Nial, I stuck copies of both of my rollover pictures in the "Test Avatar" section of "Forum Happenings".

That was the aftermath of The Glen, wasn't it?

As far as posting pics like those, heck, I don't mind, as long as the only thing hurt was my wallet.
