We wuz attacked by 2 UFOs, really, we wuz.

Not a great week here on-island with Shadrach in hospital
all week, my TR6 lies dead in the garage, I loaned out my boat
and now the motor, prop and lower unit are buggered up and have
$$$$ dealer repairs.

So late PM, the Mrs suggests we take a break and go over to
our favorite panaderia for a copa de vini tinto.

On the expressway in my silver Wrangler doing about 50 mph
when a shadow crosses my high vision. I glance up quickly-
something is not correct with this picture.

LORDY !!!!!!!!!!!! A queen sized boxspring and matress
are airborne but in a collision trajectory with our winshield.
Rush hour traffic so sideways moves possible.

Things slow down real so. The wooden corner will enter the
front windshield unless I do something fast.

Powerbrakes locked up all 4 wheels. The UFO boxspring took
out the Mrs front wheel panel, front grill panel, driving lights.

Since no one was injured I helped the young man (a lawyer)
clean up the mess. I also instructed him in the fine art of
proper knott making. He told me Sear tied the stuff on roof improperly.
I pointed out he mught have a claim.

BLAH, BLAH Sears has agreed to make everything right included my Jeep repair.

Sometimes Lawyers are good guy!!

I still want to see a photo of your boat with a yield sign attached to the lower unit....hehehehe

Lucky on the UFO incident though!!

Sounds more like a USO - Unidentified Sleeping Object. Good to hear you are OK.

Dale -

DON'T MAKE ME COME DOWN THERE! :hammer:

Sheesh, Man, stay safe, willya?

They tied a mattress to the roof of a car? That's just not smart at all.

Sideways thru the windows with garden twine- two loops yet.

After everyone's heart rates sink toward normal the lawyer
says to me.

Wow! I really sorry. I was talking on my cell phone and musta
not heard the mattress and boxsprings flying off the car.
I guess I didn't save the $80, Sears wanted for delivery?"

where do these dull knives originate?

I think the smart ones all moved to NYC.

Alan, You and I both just weathered another N.Y. winter. Which ones are the smart ones?
hehehehe
And for the last 4 years I've worked next door to a Lowes home improvement store. I've seen may share of poorly secured building materials. My favorite is when the sheet of paneling breaks, right where the single rope holding it to the roof of the SUV ran, when the wind catches it. Or the rich couple that take thier 2 seater convertable the the hardware store to shop for something big and bulky. (like rugs, or ladders)

You mean and didn't rent a truck for like $20 an hour, right?

HEY! I've ferreted 2x4's, PVC pipe, 27" LCD screens, five drawer filing cabinets in (and ON) 2-seater cars! Once a twelve foot Christmas tree and three people in an MGB. Never lost a load yet. I ~do~ tie down like a USAF loadmaster, tho.

Doc: hehehe two weeks ago I hauled 8x6 fencing on my heep ruf, but it was heavy nough not to lift at low speeds (home depot garden twine hold). Thought I should put em upright and make a sail  BTW the B must have looked like a present under the tree.

Dale what were you doing on the cell phone and driving?
