Crash Pad [dash top]

my crash pad is lifting at the far ends. It is otherwise in good condition. Is this item simply 'glued' in place? If so what type of glue, contact? I dont see any screws or such holding it in place, other than the windscreen bottom.
Regards
Craig

Craig, your dash pad (it is probably a replacement pad) is suffering from sun and age hardening and the ends will tend to shrink, if you will, and pull out. Really not much you can do to correct this. Getting that thick vinyl to lay back down is not going to be doable. A fix that seems acceptable is to lay in a piece of matching vinyl patch, perhaps folding the edges over to look finished, and tuck and glue this in place, like it was supposed to be there. May have to use your imagination . The only sure-fire fix is to replace the whole sheebang. This ain't easy as it entails removing the windshield frame and lots of stuff below it. Good luck.

Oh, and to answer you question, 3M black adhesive in a tube.

I used contact cement once while applying the dash pad. It worked well and was still holding well when I parted the car out years later.
The problem with contact cement is the lack of work time, which in your case would probably work in your favor.

I've good luck with Gorilla glue when I had something (not a dash pad) that contact cement couldn't hold down. Both surfaces need to be wet to activate the glue which foams and expands before it dries.
