Crappy day!

Woke up this morning to a stolen car... Now going through a battery of phone calls and frustration  and all that for an old 1989 Camry hardly worth anything except that it's my only car and my work is hardly bus friendly to get to, which means a rather rushed car search which I hate to do...

Not a good way to start your day. Sorry to hear it.

Joyriding or for use in a robbery I'd suspect. Wouldn't imagine there'd be much of a market in stealing it for parts. So you might get it back at some point.

Rats! :madder:

Sure hope you had no photo gear in the car.
Hope they catch the %*@#*rds :hammer:

Kind of sounds like someone doesn't like you... Hope you get it back, undamaged.

Yeah, that's REALLY weird to steal something that old. Sure it wasn't towed off? No market whatsoever unless it is being dragged to Mexico. (You'd be suprised how far the go to get cars.) My bet just a cheap thrill joy ride and it'll get torched or sold for scrap.

I drove a '85 Jetta and always left it unlocked IN NEW ORLEANS and it never got touched. As soon as I pulled the motor out and the grill and headlights it got swiped for scrap.

At one time the '89-92 Camry's were the most stolen car but that was 20 years ago. That's so weird. Sorry to hear it. Sure a friend isn't playing trick on you; an ex maybe ????

Sounds like a man with experience on either end of that possibility...

Had some guys I work with hide my motorcycle behind the building once. It was not a pleasant experience.

No car found yet, they probably won't... Took me 1.5 hours to get home from work! I was ready to settle in for the evening and pout

And I had been planning to judge photos for our camera club competition but got home so late I had written that outing off, when my friend called me to say he was behind schedule for going to it, so he picked me up and I got to look at lots of pretty photos, a good way to get my mind off the day... The funny thing, I thought it was an open competition so brought two colour photos, turned out it was a B&W competition! We all had a good laugh...

And I do have enough money to buy a nicer car, I just hadn't bothered to yet, looks like I'll have to now... But it has to be a standard... :hammer:

Glad to hear a few hours perspective is putting some humour back in - Now would be a splendid opportunity to acquire an LBC daily driver - Jag? Rover? Couple of interesting sedans out here that I'd be happy to have you pay me to drive out.
