Just an FYI:

1. It's at least a 1964, not a 1960.
2. It's not a "hardtop/convertible"; yes, the Herald sedan roof did bolt on, but NO, it's not really meant to be removed "at whim"!
3. It's probably a decent price for what presumably is a solid, rust-free car. But it looks as if it will take an awful lot of cosmetic work.
4. As much as I like convertibles, I love Herald sedans! They are very practical and reasonably roomy even in back, the vision from inside is virtually unparalleled and, being the later style of Herald, this one easily can be "upgrade" with later Spitfire engine, OD gearbox, rear end, brakes, etc., to make a fair highway cruiser!
 
That is so cool. Looks like he lowered his price because now it's $650. If only I lived closer. Looks very restorable and pretty much complete. My wife would kill me if I showed up in the driveway with that though.
 
The car is very close to where I live. If any body wants me to take a look!

Have you ever seen that style hard top as "removable"?

The grill tells me it is from a '67.
 
Glenn, the "12/50-style" grille began in the US around 1964 and was used from that point on for cars sold in the US (and Canada). As I said above, YES, the roof can be unbolted; NO, it's not really intended to be that way as were Spitfire hardtops or TR hardtops! The cars can become more than a bit less rigid with the roof unbolted, and doors can fly open. That said, it's something that became very popular in India and some other markets!
 
I sort of sent that earlier reply off before I completely read your post - sorry.

Yep, I had a hand-me-down '67 powder blue / blue interior "salon" hard top as was what they were called by the Owners manual we had, and it had that same grill as that one on Craig's list. I did not know when that finer mesh style grill started.

I also had a hand-me-down '63 Red / black interior Sport 1200 Convertible - bigger holes in the grill - my first Triumph. Both were purchased new by my dad.

So, Andy, how hard is it to find parts for this car, ie. headlight trim, other lenses, upholstery, etc.?
 
It's not too bad, really. Trim, lenses and stuff are somewhat scarce in the US, but they seem to turn up on eBay from time to time. Upholstery is relative simple to have done locally if you don't mind not being 100% original (i.e., "heat welded" seams can be replaced by stitching). OTOH, very original type upholstery is available from Newton Commerical in the UK either directly from them or through Canley Classics, Rimmer Bros and similar UK suppliers.
