Buyers are the Stanley/Black & Decker group, who plan to expand the tool range, and - now get this - increase US production of hand tools. A wise move, as I'm sure that many would buy more Craftsman tools if they were made here in the USA.

I really like old school Stanley tools, but I've never had any black and decker tools that have lasted. I'm a little unnerved by this development. Are they going to continue the lifetime guarantee with tool exchange with no questions, like sears would?

I have 2 B&D cordless drills that have out performed and outlasted any of the "priceyer" drills I have owned over the years at less tha half the price.
