People I know who have roll bars have taken their tonneau covers to upholstery shops to have them modified to fit.

Man, I have been thinking the same thing for the last couple of years. My problem is not only a roll bar but seats that have a higher than normal headrest (Vicky Brit). That, plus the fact that I have a Sunfast top so I will have to get some extra fabric from Robbins to make the extra room for the headrests. I don't think that Robbins would give me any grief about selling me a couple of yards of fabric. There is a custom boat cover shop in the area that could do the job for me. I think that the trick will be the sealing of the tonneau around the posts for the roll bar.
I love driving in the winter with the top down. A tonneau would make it bearable. Always impressed to see a tonneaued LBC blasting down the highway at below freezing temps, enjoying the ride....

Bill,
The boat shop may have the material you need. Boat covers and awnings for buildings are usually made from Sunbrella. Another older name, which may not be around any more, was Acrylon. Boat cover shops and awning shops should be able to get what you need. If you have a color other than black you will need to compare a swatch to your existing material. BTW the stuff last for a long time. I have a cover on my boat made from Acrylon that has been out in the sun every minute of it's life which is nearly 20 years. I had to have it restiched once about 10 years ago, but the material is still in decent shape.

thanx everyone for the input...

I guess i'm headed to the upholstery shop /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif

Slightly off topic,
Why is a tonneau cover so much money in comparison to a full roof?
You'd think that the tonneau would be about 25% of the cost of the roof

Good point, especially since there is little to no "tailoring" of the tonneaus. Of course, if you ever go to have the zipper replaced in an otherwise sound tonneau cover, you'll begin to understand SOME of the costs involved! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
