Covid and Abbott's subsidy program for Paxlovid.

We were early adopters of Covid, onset 3/1/20. I innovated social distancing many years ago, so we don't much go anywhere and have not had it since; until today. We went to an orchid show in Miami on Sunday, 1/14. Mrs. Bob had a positive test 1/17 and I had one today. Symptoms are not bad. Off to Walmart for Paxlovid. It is a Tier 5 drug on our plan, so my insurer would want me to pay a $500.00 deductible. Abbott offers a coupon to Medicare/Medicaid geezers which forgives the deductible. They also offer one for conventionally insured, but I don't know the subsidy level.

Bob - sorry to hear the news - especially the cost!

Here in CT, my health insurance sets my price for Paxlovid at $1.00 for 30 of the high dose tablets. Also covers the additional pharmacy charge to "diagnose" you, unless you've already been diagnosed by a physician.
