I am about to buy tires for my '72 series 3. I am looking at the wheels and they are a bit rusty and they are built for tubed tires, probably won't hold air unless accompanied by a tube, eh?
So, First question: Do I remove the wheels and put it on blocks while the wheels are sandblasted and podwer coated, or do I try to find out the proper stud spacing for a new set of tubeless wheels? (the implied question there is Does anyone know the right stud spacing?)
Second question: As soon as the rain stops here in California, I'm going to want to take the top off this puppy. The spare tire is going to have to go on the bonnet, rather than the back door, since the back door is also going to come off. There is a plate on the bonnet for the spare with the lock post, but thats all. I know where to get the additional parts, but can someone tell me about the mechanics of mounting the wheel on the bonnet?
Thanks in advance.
