I cleaned up the plate mount and light plinth from the MK1 Midget today.
So what is usually done with these?
Paint the same color as the body?
Leave it aluminum?
Polish the aluminum?
Mine has good chrome and glass and light fixtures.
Looks good on my Franken-Bugeye too.

Normally, they are painted body color.

I don't think they are aluminum, but rather pot metal. Left unpainted, it will likely pit easily as it's very porous.

oh, felt like / looked like aluminum.
I'll spray on some primer tomorrow.

It looks good on the car, can't wait for the full respray - but I've got a lot to do first.

I did manage to get some body work done this past weekend, after yet another encounter with a vehicle.
Someone made contact with the grille, pushing in the bonnet on the drivers side causing damage.

Saturday and Sunday was spent straightening and filling and glazing and sanding to get those curves around the headlight just right. I'm very sore today.

One of the things on my list was to get the older style license plate holder and light fitted to this car, so here's a picture of that.
Not the final fitment, it's sitting a little high in this pic but you get the idea.
