Couple of Frame Questions

There is a metal tab on the driver side of the frame on my TR3A at the front portion of the frame just before the tower support. I have attached a picture of it. It is bent and I'm wondering if it should be bent or straight? I have attached a picture of it.
Also what kind of glue or adhesive has any one used for the protection strips, as shown on plate af, body and fittings section of the Stanparts Book?

Thanks, Tinkerman

that's the tab where the clutch line meets the hose. the threaded end of the flex hose goes through the hole and gets captured by a nut, then the steel line screws on to it. It just needs to be oriented so it dosen't kink the lines that run through it. I think they usually have a bit of a shape to them. not totally flat.

As for the glue you asked about, I never used any glue. Once I had the body all back on the frame and tightened all the bolts and I could see that the gaps were parallel, I attached the pads #12 on the out-riggers under the floor with twist-ems for garbage bags so they wouldn't fall off. You can use any glue you want as no judge at any concours would know that you used glue.
