Yesterday I stopped in to a local Flea Market just to see what might be available One of the sellers had a bunch of CDs, most of which were junk. But during in the midst of the CDs were a couple of good deals - I picked up Tracy Chapman and Hootie and the Blowfish CDs for $1 each!

well done! (what's a CD? πŸ˜‚ )

It's an ancient polycarbonate disk, approximately 4.5 inches in diameter, from which one can "rip" audible wave forms for playback on devices such as iPhones, or Hi-Definition players.

Let 'em rip cause it's the only way to play CD in modern rides. Alternative retrofits are expensive CD play options and sound quality is low.

I have every CD and even every vinyl album I have ever owned ripped into my iPhone music collection.

I can't remember the last time I actually played a CD on a CD player, but I buy them often from places like the WalMart bargin bin, garage sales or Flea Markets, etc. You can often get some pretty decent music at very low prices and they are easy to rip onto an iphone or other music player.

makes sense - a few years ago i ripped all my CDs to my NAS drive and literally never listened to a single tune. Now my NAS is mostly dead - and I realize I am a confirmed radio guy (remember radio?) :D

Similar here (though up in the Cloud with OneDrive)... about 55gb of data though.

I hope you have a local copy of all that music. Remember Photobucket? Or Hometown AOL.

Definitely... as well on a exterior back-up drive.

Me too. I have my music on iCloud, but also have it on a 3TB RAID - and a second fireproof hard drive. I also use Backblaze backup service to keep everything on all hard drives backed up on a separate cloud.

It took SO much effort to burn all those CD (I think I have about 3,000) that I don't want to ever do that again!
