Counting my chickens...

...before I even go to the henhouse to see if there are eggs. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I've been doing some math, based on my new job, that I haven't even started yet. and finally, I'm going to have some money I can start throwing at my 2 poor neglected sportscars again! WOOOOHOOO! It's been really depressing not having either of my cars available for a drive this summer. After they cut back my hours at work, they both had to go into semi-storage because they both needed work and parts that I didn't have money for. Then when they cut back more, I had to cancel the insurance on both of them. And I only barely had enough money to get new tags for the regular commuter cars to get my wife and I to work. It's been a struggle, but I can see now that I'll have at least the MGB going by next spring/summer, and maybe the Alfa too! I might even be making enough to get one of them repainted next year. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

That is truly good news....glad that things are turning around for you.

Take care of family first...the cars will still be there.

Hallalujiah!! Hallalujiah!!

That sounds super to me, heck don't worry about paint just keep em running and protected and they will be around a long time for you to enjoy.

Kenny. I'm thrilled to see things turning around for you!

It will be... I'm still going into the hole right now, but I'll be back out of it in a couple months. Lets see, then there's christmas (which I should actually be able to buy gifts this year for a change)... Yep, I should be back into the positive range by January. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif 2 other side things that are going to help, is my truck will be paid off in a couple months, and so will the credit card. Only bill left is the house payment (another 4 years), so I'll be exiting that tunnel soon too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

woohooo! glad to hear it's turning around for ya Kenny!

That's great news & Good luck!

Congrats. The nice thing with our little cars is that they can be put on hold for a little while when things get tight--they'll still be there, waiting patiently for us to come back, like a loyal little puppy. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Great to hear Kenny....But cars can always wait(mine have many times)...you wanna make sure everything else is taken care of first.....Then it's time to play /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Oh, believe me, everything is already pretty much taken care of. I know where to keep the money going when it gets tight, and where to cut back... From previous experience.

Ever thought about ditching the Alfa to get the MG going again?

Nope. It's paid for and I like it too. I got a relatively good deal on it, and one day I hope to add a few more cars... I want a 2 seat sportscar from every country. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif and maybe a couple more british ones and italian ones.
