Correct V-belt

I went to the NAPA store today to get a V-belt and was sold a smooth belt with an FH (Fractional Horsepower) designation.
The packaging said it was for lawn and household applications of less than 1 HP.
I asked the sales clerk if an FH belt was suitable for automotive use and was told "Yes".
Now I see that Google AI says no--that such a belt is not suitable for cars.
Who is right--AI or NAPA and if not FH which designation is correct?

Theoretically, your generator should generate less than 1 Hp, but that's cutting it close and an engine compartment gets rather hotter than household applications. So, I would agree with AI.
