I never gave it much thought before, but I was looking at some pictures of 1967 BJ8 healey 3000's and I noticed that some cars have the amber turn signal lenses on the inside(closer to the grill) and others have the amber lenses on the outside(farthest from the grill). I searched the forum and couldn't find the answer. Can anyone tell me what is correct. thanks

I would say amber to the outside. The front cover of 'Healeys & Austin-Healeys' (published in 1970) has a picture which must be a BMC promotional photo. Clearly shows amber outside.

Hi gcoll, If you look at the wiring schmatic in the shop manual you will notice that the electrical print which is laid out pretty much representative to where the components are, shows the turn signal lamps located outboard of the run lights. And that is the way all the BJ8s that I have seen are set up. Dave.
