I was working on putting in a Pertronix ignition and Lucas Sport Coil on my 76B and wanted to be sure I'd hooked it up right (yes it's running...so that's a good start)
The dizzy is a fairly new 45D4, and it did have a ballast resistor. I bypassed that by directly plugging in the white wire to the positive side of the coil. There was also another wire (actually 2 b&w ones) that on the schematic that looked like they went to the tach and I hooked them up again. On the old setup though there was another wire on the + side that went to a small thumb sized blue rubber covered item that mounted next to the old coil...I did not hook this back up...but don't know what it is or if it is needed?
Replaced the plugs and wires while I was at it, and it fired right up but timing is definitely off which I'll remedy shortly!
