Cooling Fans

Is there a way to bypass the thermostatic switch and just make the fans run constantly when the ignition is on? I have an overheating problem and the fans are the only thing not working. I have traced it down to the switch, but I need a quick fix until I can get the money and the part from moss also does anyone know the part number? Its for a 79 mgb.

Thanks
Robert
P.S. I love the new look of the website, but I am still trying to figure out all of the new stuff. VERY COOL /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

all you have to do is tie the 2 wires that go to the switch together and the fans should run. Note that overheating is a serious problem in MGs, leading to all kind of fun and expensive things like cracked heads and blown head gaskets. It is not something to be put off, and your car should run cool enough at speed not to need those fans. have a good radiator place boil out your radiator and recore it if necessary. The replacement units are junk. and a good alternator shop may be able to repair your fans, usually they need brushes or bearings
