Coolant Recovery System

Hi Dar,
One issue I ran into with these “Hot Rod” tanks is mine used ¼” hose, and the Healey radiator is 3/8” if I remember correctly. As I posted previously, I silver brazed a 5/16” SS tube to the bottom of the tank. I don’t think I mentioned I also cut the 3/8” barb off the radiator neck and soldered a new 5/16” barb there as well. If you look, you can find 5/16” overflow hose, which has a thinner wall than fuel line. It bends easier and looks less obtrusive. I haven’t seen it at any of the chain auto parts stores. Radiator shops would be your best bet if you were inclined.

Thanks for the follow-up. I think this is the first thing I'm going to do before we get to summer months. I'll look for hose adaptors first, I think, then resort to brazing or soldering as a last resort. Maybe I can hide the adaptor under, or right at, the bottom of the tank.
