coolant leak

I recently ran into a problem with my 88 xjs v12. I have a pretty bad coolant leak comming from under the car. it appears to be comming from the rear of the engine, i'm thinking the heater. Any suggetsion would be appreciated, i cannot find a way to access that area if the engine, and the car acan't go anywhere till it's fixed. Thank you.

Pray for a HOSE needing replacement rather than the heater or (gag) a freeze plug that has let go. You will have to get under there to see what is leaking.

That's exactly what i'm praying for, the only question is, is there any "easy" way to see that area of the car. i don't have a lift, i'v tried seeing underneath with car ramps, but i still can't see where it's commming from.

I hope this is on target because it is easy to fix (replace). There is a heater water valve in the general area of the rear of the engine up against the fire wall and on top. It is easy to get to and is prone to develop leaks after enough time. Take a look. It has water lines and a vacuum line running to it.
