Left Florida for Maine this Christmas. I noticed that my Dad has an interesting tag.

My life-long Maine friend has the tag: "MAINE" on his car. His son now has it, it has been in his family now for four generations.

A cool tag but not the best cribbage hand. Wouldn't the best hand be 555J held with a turn up of 5 in the same suit as the Jack in the hand for a total of 29? hummm? Not many play any more. It is a fun game indeed.

I taught my step son to play when he was about eight years old. In about his second week of learning, the little brat got a 29 hand. He had to call his grandfather, also an avid player, to tell him the news!
I've been playing cribbage for over 50 years, and have probably only gotten three or four of them.
That reminds me of being dealt a Royal Flush at about the same age, in a friendly poker game with my dad, uncle and grandfather.

In nearly 50 years of playing I have never had a 29. Only seen a couple of them. I love to play but there are fewer and fewer people who know how anymore.

Used cribbage to teach both kids math. They had to do it fast and when friends came over it was a ball watching.
Card game of choice here.

Bruce, that's how I was introduced to the game, at the suggestion of my second grade teacher. I wish there was someone left around here to play with.

My wife & I still play Crib occasionally. And there are pubs still in England with Crib leagues.
One for his nob!
