Converting a MkII with a V8 back to stock Jag 6?

I've seen some pretty decent looking MkII's that have had there drivetrains converted to GM V8's or straight Six's. Has anyone attempted to return one of these altered Jags back to stock and what kind of issues did they run into when doing this?
 
The issue I have seen, going way back, is firewall and tunnel.
I recall a 283 and powerglide in a MK1 in....1966 that had patched "hump: to clear the trans, and I think the firewall notched back to clear the distributor.
But, since the mounts are to the subframe, and not the body, I would think most of the damage can be repaired by obtaining a new (used) front subframe.
If they whacked out for a bigger radiator, you'd have to fix the mounts.
Might take a rusty "donor" car, but should be reversible.
Tach is maybe another issue....and "donor: may fix that, too.
 
Thanks for the info. Do you ever come across donor cars in the Washington area or are they mostly found in the California/Arizona area?
 
You can find donor cars about anyplace. Less rust in dry areas, hopeless in places where they salt the road. But, those inner pieces should be fairly well protected.
