Convertible Top Hook Question

Please take a look at this picture of my BJ7 convertible top hooks:

There is a bend toward the rear in the threaded section. Is that supposed to be there or is the threaded section supposed to be straight?

Pretty common, we get a little heavy handed sometimes when putting up the top. I made some from a grade 8 bolt. Not chrome but beaded blasted and cleared look pretty good.
