I was about to wax eloquent on the subject of a society less and less able to cope with responsibility-of-ownership on an individual basis...

They would probably stop running every hour for a fifteen minute tea break, the monitor would flicker and / or dim and the shutdown tune would be replaced by 'God Save the Queen'. Each keyboard would come with a can of PB Blaster and I would guess the mouse would be a burly bulldog wearing a Union Jack t-shirt swigging lager and mummbling profanities at aftermarket peripherals that were not made in the 'The Empire'.

I've been following with interest the TV ads that tout the ability of the new Lexus to parallel park for you... at this point we may as well just have robots driving our cars... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
 
There is something to be said about the simple technology in our LBCs. The amount of computer technology in modern cars is surprising, but boy it makes it that much harder to service. I like the fact my Midget only has one warning light, instead of the dozen or so crowded onto my Honda's dash, including the "passenger side airbag off" one that always freaks me out when my passenger leans forward.

Lucas computers? Dealing with Windows is bad enough!
