computer engine simulator software??

Hi all,
I am considering picking up some engine simulator software to study cam, intake, exhaust, valves etc for my tr4. does anyone have any experience with these? Is there one you would recommend? I see a lot of these packages are geared toward v8's but i want one that is suitable for a tr4, 2 valve, push rod motor with webers.
Any help or reccomendations would be great

Well all,
i got a response on Kas's site, performance trends inc. Looks like excellent software. Claims of predicting hp & torque from users to less than 5% variation.
Actual claim of 1% with pro version from one user. Can't imagine anyone developing a motor without using simulation software that is this accurate.

I develop this type of software at my office. Unfortunately it is used primarily for very large ship diesel engines, but I am achieving less than 0.1% error for engine torque & speed, turbo speed, inlet and exhaust pressures and temperatures, mass flow of air and fuel, etc. The technology isn't so tough but using a "mean value engine model", such as commercially available products, has limitations simply because it doesn't look at details, using instead generalized differential equations for the model states.

I would however like to hear how this software works on your engine. I have looked at some of the software from the net, and actually modelled a TR4 (my brother has one) on them without a lot of luck. Probably because I refuse to buy the software and use only the evaluation version.

I tried the free trial of the basic system and it is a waste of time for me. Can't do entire exhaust system or 4-2-1 header into 2 mufflers. They told me that for what i want i would have to go elsewhere and that it would cost me 20K-50K/year to lease, stating 2 company's that they knew of. Oh well.
I would need to use a wedge combustion chamber from their list with about 40% efficiency, and a 4-1 header.

If you want to simulate air flow through the engine including valves, cam timing and exhaust air flow, you had better break out the thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, finite element and c++ and put it together yourself. If you do it, you can lease it for the 50K/year. I haven't seen any of that available. I'm not sure how much auto manufacturers use that stuff. We only do it because our engines turn so slowly that fluid dynamics has such little influence it can be modelled without all that extra computation and a 30 second simulation only takes a couple minutes.
