TR6 Commission Plate?

My first question of many.

I have a title and a vin number for the car I purchased but it would appear that I am supposed to have a "commission plate" on the drivers door post?
I don't have any plates on the car at all. I have looked several times. I was hoping to find the original paint codes and that sort of thing.
Is there a way to have a new plate made from the VIN?
It may very well be in all the boxes of parts that I got with the car but I have yet to go through much of it.

You may also want to get a copy of Bill Piggott's book, Original TR, which is an invaluable tool for identifying specs, trim, etc. I have a copy you can peruse if you make it this way.

You should have a vin tag on the drivers side windscreen leg as well. Is that one present?
