TR6 Commission number question

Does anyone know if it was possible to have a 1972 TR6 with a CC commission number and a CF chassis number? Seems odd to me....
 
I assume you found the commission number on the plate. Where did you find the chassis number?

Hi Charley

there are two number plates on the passenger side firewall....engine side. My understanding is that they are the chassis numer and the engine number. Both are CF numbers.
