About to purge/clean the fuel system, install an SU pump and bolt on the Weber DCOE again. All's left now is the heater box and unit to make it mechanically complete. Cosmetics are the last on the list: Interior panels, trim and seat upholstery... YAY!!!

ya know... UF use to say Peyton Manning had "Happy Feet" everytime the UF vs UT game rolled around. A lot of the "good ole boy" commentators equated it to being nervous about having to face UF's defensive line at the time. heh

It's commonly known, that when completing a major automotive project,The last 10%of the work takes 90% of the time, heh Doc?

For me, getting started takes 90% of the time. Lot's of looking, staring, let me drink a beer and think about this a minute... Look at it a few more times, another beer, get out the tools, smoke a ciggy, look at it again, think about how nice it'll be when I finally get it done, drink another beer, think about it somemore... Watch the sunset over a beer. Think about it before bed, get up the next day... go look at it again, get the tools back out, smoke a ciggy, look, think, drink, smoke...

Usually after all that, the job takes about 10 minutes of actual wrenching...

"so what'd you do this weekend?"
"I changed the sparkplugs - took forever these things are so hard to work on unless you know what your doing!"

The 90% for me comes in trying to put $$$$$$ aside to get the parts I need. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif and now waiting for spring. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Oh, I was only counting the 90% - after the part has been in the house for a month. I have a front valence panel behind the couch I got from Tony 2 years ago to replace the one the towtruck guy bent up when I brought the car home!

Inclined to agree with banjo about the last details, but the reality of this project went a bit differently. Once I'd begun to uncover the "sin" it was clear I'd be a loong time at it. Money has become an irritating issue too. I'm "this close" to finishing but still need all the seals for the hard top, a new rag top, urethane bushings for the rear suspension, tires... ACK!

It's s'posed to be a DRIVER. Appears I've gone a bit overboard. May as well... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif
