Colorado Red paint codes ?

Hey y'all,
Know I have seen this before and tried a search but could
not find. Does anyone have a modern Dupont, PPG, etc
paint code for Colorado red ?????

Dave again - I guess the last thread on your query was off the mark?

Try this - I looked through Clausager's restoration guidebook on Healeys and the code is listed as follows: Colorado (Signal) Red: BMC code RD2, ICI code 3742 (ICI was taken over as I understand, by PPG). Unfortunately, it doesn't specify whether the red is the yellowish tone or the darker tone. I received a comment from Anthony 7777 on an earlier thread and he has Pikovnik's guide to Historic Healey colors. You might give him a private message if he doesn't comment on your question.

Ford Mustang 2004-2006 have a paint that is called Colorado Red.
My car was painted in 1982 with a color called Flame Red, don't remember who made it -- maybe PPG, but it was supposed to be the same as the Healey Colorado Red, which has the yellowish (orangish) tone I really like.

timk, "flame red" was an original healey color, mfg. code-blvc. 061, ici code-3442.

timk, it seems the flame red was used on "sprites" heres how it is explained in the book,..HAN-10.sept,1969-dec,1970, AAN.-jan-july,1971., big healey reds include carmine red,rd13,ici2260,..carmen red,rd13,ici8616, reno red rd14,ici3000, colorado red rd02,ici3742. i do not know what "HAN" or "AAN" indicates.
