I don't know Colin and have not dealt with him, but, this is an international board and he is the owner of:

Spriteparts Australia

and from the Australian Yahoo group, his 24 year old daughter was very recently killed in a car accident - her car hit by a driver with a suspended license.

Sad.

Very sad. With all of the high-tech methods we have to track phones/people, how is it that DWI/Suspended license cases cannot be kept off the road? The first year I had my drivers license, I was in my pride and joy, a 68 ford van, and was hit by someone driving on suspension, with his girlfriends car. I was lucky and only got a cut above the eye from the windshield post (not much seat belt use in those days), and the front end crumpled in around my foot (thank God for Dingo boots!) Just saying there must be something.....

Much too sad. Simply not fair.

A terrible tragedy, I'm sorry to hear it. Condolences to his family. Just awful.

Unlicensed/uninsured drivers are a plague. Last year the AAA estimated that approximately 20% of the drivers in the NOVA/DC area (one of the worst areas in the nation to drive, congestion 2nd only to L.A.) are either uninsured or unlicensed, or both.

That's a staggering statistic. Add drunk/impaired driving and "distracted" driving to this mix and its a wonder that we're still alive.

All the more reason to purchase high limits of uninsured motorists coverage. It's relatively cheap insurance against the boneheads who don't have it.

Be safe out there . . . :yesnod:

Saw a show several years ago about a sheriff who would watch the courthouse. He would wait in the courtroom, see people he knew had their licenses suspended or had just been suspended, watch them leave the court, get in their car and drive away. He would pull them over and give them a hefty fine or arrest them. City lawyer told him to stop. Entraptment. :wall:
