Coil spring free length & correct brake servo?

Could someone tell me what the free length of the front coil springs are on a 64 BJ8. Also my brake servo does not look like the one in the workshop manual. It separates at the midpoint of the vacuum chamber(looks like you twist the two halves apart). It does not have a plate that bolts on the end of the chamber. Is this correct for a 64 BJ8 or do I have an aftermarket unit. I am concerned about spare parts purchasing in the future. Thanks for your help!

John

Well, I just looked in Victoria British and noticed that my brake servo looks exactlly like the one listed on page 78 which indicates it is a Girling MK2B. Does anyone know if parts are available for these? Thanks and have a good day!

John

Hi John, The original servo has not been available new for some time. Most of the parts vendors have been utilising the Girling unit as a replacement.Since many owners rebuild both types the rebuild kits are available .However, I do not know of a good source.---Fwiw--Keoke
