TR2/3/3A coil mounting bolt oil leak

I had a small oil weep that appeared to be from the rear coil mount bolt.I put a few tapered wraps of Teflon on the bolt and think it will be ok but the hole goes about 2" deep into the block. Is this normal or is it possible the hole has been drilled or broken through?
Its 1/4 20 and doesn't look altered.I haven't looked at the front bolt closely.A stud with a shoulder in the middle for a gasket would be a better fix .
Thanks
Tom

Normal on TR2-4. Threads are only 1/4 deep or so, but the hole opens into the pushrod area.
Generator mount is the same way.
