Well i got the first stage of my clutch swap completed today, i got the engine and trans out, and separated them. Found out what i suspected for a while... my T.O. bearing was Carbon free! It had been grinding on the PP and really kinda tore stuff up. I am replacing it with a new clutch, and one of those roller bearing replacement release bearings. So that should be nice when its all done. What i need is some suggestions of other things to do when the engine is out, and I also need to know what tranny lube to put back in. I am gonna paint the block, Degrease everything, Replace Every oil and coolant gasket i can thing of, and swap on an electric fan. Any other suggestions?

You will find that trany lube is the same as engine lub in a ribed or smooth box.
 
its a ribcase.. So i should run 20w50?

That's the stuff, get one of those little pumps that goes in a quart container of oil to pump it in.

I ran the 80w-90 in my ribcase. I figured the thicker stuff would make the gears run smoother. If you have any miles on the motor I would change the timing chain. They are in expensive and you don't want one to break or jump time on you.
