T-Series Clutch Slave Cylinder Tubing

I have rebuilt the cylinder and I'm replacing the flexable tuce from the frame to the cylinder. When I compared the new one to the old the new one is 1/4" shorter. It seems the tube is really short and I had to put it on the cylinder before attaching the cylinder to the bell housing. There doesn't seem to be any play or spare room allowed; is this normal? The angle going into the cylinder is very tight but so was the old one.

Where'd the "new"' one come from?

I can't get to the underside of this B just now, but I'll measure what we have and report back. Mebbe someone else has access meantime?

You've probably got the clutch hose screwed into the BLEED fitting on the slave cyl. Switch the bleeder screw and the clutch hose and you'll have plenty of length. Dont feel bad, I've done this too. Dont forget the copper crush washer.

I dont know why, but the new cyls ship from the factory with the bleed in the wrong place.

If I listened to you guys I would have a lot less stress. Yes Scott the tube was screwed into the wrong hole. The PO had it like that and I assumed it was correct. I looked under the new B and saw how the tubing was connected and changed. Walla, everything is good. Will bleed the cylinder and try our the clutch. Sorry if I insulted anyone.
