T-Series Clutch pipe installation- 1974 MGB

Hey everyone,

Before entering this topic, I tried searching for it, but wasn't able to find exactly what I was looking for. So, here goes...

It appears that I've finally got all the parts together for repairing/replacing the clutch hydraulics on my '74 MGB.

The clutch pipe runs from the master cylinder to a body fitting where it fastens to the rubber flex line. It's not a straight linear path.

The new pipe that I received appears to be some kind of copper alloy but doesn't feel as malleable as copper tubing from the hardware store.

Now, the original pipe has some bends and straights on its way from master cylinder to flex line. What I received was shipped in a coil. Will I need a pipe bender to bend it properly? I sure don't want to break it.

Any advice and suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you,
-Bill

Hey, Bill -

I've done them by hand and with a bending tool. Breaking is less an issue than kinking them. If the bend is a slight one, you can do it carefully by hand, and I find it easier to match the bend that way. Ninety-degree bends in a short radius is better left to using a tool. Warm the tube up beforehand, either way.

Let us know how you make out.

THIS one works well for all the "plumbing" we've done.
