TR2/3/3A Clutch operating shaft...

Gear box CT 61936, in a TR3A

Must be from TR4A. It came with a grooved operating shaft, and a lot of year at the lever end so I have cut it out. Question is which shaft to buy to replace it. It had a groove in the shaft and a locating bolt at the "far " end and no grease fittings. It looks as though I should get the ungrooved TR4A shaft with new bushings ( and reinforcing the fork attachment).
Does the shaft stay in place without the locating bolt, held by the fork bearing on the throwout thing? snd does that add to wear in unseen places, ( the 2 pins are worn and need replacing too).

Advice needed urgently!!!

The locating bolt was deleted later on (the TR6 gearbox in my TR3 doesn't have one). Doesn't seem to be needed.

thank you.I think the hole for the bolt will be covered by a new bushing and that will be the end of that story. The spring on the shaft must keep little pressure on the system.

BTW the shaft is really worn so i am glad i chopped it up.
