Clutch master cyl. push rod

Can a brake master cylinder push rod be used in place of the clutch push rod. The brake one is can be adjusted while the clutch one is fixed. If adjustable, I can take out the little bit of play. Why weren't they made that way? I have extras from replacing both MC's.

I think the adjustment isn't there to take out play, but rather to adjust the relative position of the brake to the gas, which is important when downshifting, to help heel/toe- hence, no adjustment "needed" on the clutch, but I it would have been nice.
