When replacing the clutch what is everyone using to lube the front cover, input shaft splines and pressure plate fingers?
 
i think I used a syn. grease but it was years ago.
 
Being an ex Honda/Acura mechanic, I still have a little of high temperature red grease in the plastic small bottle that Honda/Acura used for their clutches, etc. Works great....

can pick it up at any Honda/Acura dealer and I don't think it is very expensive, but it's been years and years since I bought mine.

Would that be Mobil 28? We use that on our jets to lube wheel bearings and brake housings. Very high temp synthetic grease, and slick too!
 
Personally, I use a dry moly spray.

Withstands higher temperatures; and cannot dry out, become sticky or collect clutch dust as grease can.
 
Think i would go with a moly based compound instead of Mobil 28. Its a great grease for what its intended for but I don't think it would work that well in this application.
Just my opinion mind you, that and 30 years of pumping mobil 28 into helicopter components :smile:
