Is ther any way to clear up a cloudy are of a windshield. i have small area on my 79 Midget that I would like to clear up if possible. Thanks for any help in this area

It is ironic that this question should come up today. I was at my LBC mechanic today, and he was showing me a MGB with the same cloudiness around the four corners of its windshield. He explained that they are from the frost getting in them, and there is no way to remove them.
Perhaps this is the same thing you are seeing?

It is my understanding that this is caused by a slight delamination of the glass and the safety plastic layer. If this is the case, the only fix would be replacement.

You see this in a lot of very very old cars. If what you are describing is what I think - new windshield.

My 77 midget came with that problem as well. At first I thought it was from the bad paint job the last owner did, but on closer inspection noticed it was inside the glass.
