I am getting ready for painting a 69 and ever since i bought the car i always wondered about the trans, it just popped in my head now that is why i am asking.

The trans on the 69 sprite and all other ribcases i have driven , have been pretty far strides from gear to gear, all seemed pretty much the same. The 69 i am getting painted is another story.

The shifting is very, very close and the shifter does not shake at all. when I first got the car i thought the trans was bad because i couldnt find 3rd or 4th gear, it turned out they are just really close together. I talked to my Father and he had no idea, he doesnt recall running across this ever. Any advice or if there is anything i should look for or other things to help identify let me know. from the top everything looks as normal.
